Vinyasa with extra hip mobility and strength work

By |2021-09-19T12:47:48-07:00September 19th, 2021|0 Comments

Mmmm... raise your hand if you love working those hips! (crickets) Ok, me either, but for those of us that do a lot of repetitive forward to back movements like running, hiking, and cycling, it's important that we work mobility into our practices. We also do some extra core work in the practice. [...]

Dancer/Core Flow Vinyasa

We work lots of dancers into our flow. We also hit core pretty hard in this class, specifically the elusive iliopsoas. As usual we spend a little time upside down in handstand and pincha and lots of movement.

Let's face it, we can all use a little extra booty and core work. Me too! We really get it done in this class. It's an all around vinyasa class with lots of flows and lots of vinyasas, but we hit that lower body hard. I felt this one for a couple of days. [...]

This a head to toe flow. We start with some lower back stretches, move into a fun flow with balancing, twists, and inversions. We finish with extra core work. Fun!

This is another challenging class (grab your hand towel, it's a sweaty one) and we really work on getting into those hips. We build up chair figure fours until we land in our flying pigeon pose (eka pada galavasana).

This is a challenging fast-paced vinyasa class with lots of opportunities to upside down. Handstands and arm balances in abundance. We also hit lots of core in this one. Have fun!

360 Degrees of Core Vinyasa

When the request for core happened today, I decided to explore what that really means. It's easy to confuse core strength with only ab strength and specifically 6 pack muscle strength. Ashtanga Half-Primary (Kinda)

By |2021-06-18T09:17:02-07:00June 18th, 2021|0 Comments

Can you do the Ashtanga Primary Series in 60 minutes? Um... no, you can not. Not unless you speed it up by counting fast through the holds and skipping quite a few poses. Voila, that's what we have here. However, that doesn't mean that isn't 60 minutes well spent. Ashtanga is a beautiful, challenging, [...]
